The Diploma of Work Health and Safety will assist you in effective WHS risk management and train you to lead response and incident investigation. You will also learn to develop workplace policy and procedures for sustainability and the environment.
Course structure
Students typically attend one evening a week. Evening classes run every Tuesday night from 6pm to 9pm. Classes won’t run in a week with a public holiday.
Elective units have been chosen by Holmesglen based on feedback from industry as well as subject matter experts. If you have already completed other elective units, these may contribute towards completion of this course.
ASSESSMENT
Assessments are designed to provide learners with opportunities to demonstrate they have attained the required skills and knowledge using a range of practically based activities and tasks, as required by recognised standards.

Entry requirements
A good command of the English language, both written and verbal, is recommended*
Minimum 18 Years of age*
All BSB41419 Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety core units or equivalent competencies. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to the following units which have been mapped as equivalent.
BSBWHS412 Assist with workplace compliance with WHS laws
BSBWHS413 Contribute to implementation and maintenance of WHS consultation and participation processes
BSBWHS414 Contribute to WHS risk management
BSBWHS415 Contribute to implementing WHS management systems
BSBWHS416 Contribute to workplace incident response
Prior to enrollment or commencement of training you will be required to complete a literacy and numeracy assessment and a pre-training interview. These will assist with determining your suitability to the course, verify your training plan, and identify and learning support needs.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. Outcomes
QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
On completion of this course, you will receive the Certificate of BSB51319 Diploma in Work Health and Safety.
