This program is designed for electricians, plumbers, building practitioners, trade assistants and apprentices across the building industries, who are seeking registration with Solar Victoria to install solar energy systems.
Learners are best equipped to achieve the outcomes of the Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry, if they have minimum language, literacy and numeracy skills that are equivalent to level 3 of the Australian Core Skills Framework (ACSF).
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING
You may be able to shorten the length of your chosen course by measuring skills acquired through work, life experiences or qualifications obtained from formal studies or training. AQF qualifications and statements of attainment issued by another registered training organisation will be recognised by Holmesglen. QUALIFICATION AND RECOGNITION
On completion, participants for will receive a Statement of Attainment in the unit of competency VU22744 Work safely in the solar Industry.
By 1 July 2020, SolarVIC has confirmed it will be mandatory for all workers participating in the Solar Homes Program to have undertaken or be enrolled to undertake the unit VU22744 Work safely in the solar industry.
Note: The full qualification is not delivered as part of this program. Learners must hold all of the endorsed units of competency in the course to achieve the full qualification 22515VIC Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry.
Learners who already hold one or more of the units of competency from previous study can apply for direct credit transfer when enrolling in this course. Learners can also gain direct credit transfer of units successfully completed in any future courses containing the same units.
The Department can provide further information regarding credit transfer applicable to this course.
Learners will hold accredited training required to work safely on roofs to install PV/Solar collector systems.
There are no formal articulation arrangements negotiated and established for the Course in Working Safely in the Solar Industry with higher education courses.
