    This course involves the skills and knowledge required to enter the rail corridor.

    This course is designed for those who are already working in the Railway Industry required to undertake training as part of their ongoing employment conditions, and/or experienced workers/displaced workers seeking to into a career in the Railway Industry and undertaking the training to satisfy the requirements to apply for a Railway Industry Worker's Card.

    This course is also suitable for employees and contractors who will be participating in work activity within the various rail corridors in Australia.

    Course includes taking appropriate safety precautions to: access the danger zone and access the rail corridor and respond appropriately in an emergency.

    Learners achieving competence in the unit of competency  will need to fulfil the applicable state/territory legislated rail safety requirements and to comply with relevant codes of practice, rules and/or guidelines.

    This unit of competence involves the application of Rail Infrastructure Manager rules, procedures and protocols for rail safety. This unit applies to all people accessing the rail corridor.

    No licensing, legislative or certification requirements apply to this unit at the time of Training Package document release.

    Qualification & Recognition

    On successful completion Learners will receive nationally recognised Statement of Attainment.

    Pathways

    On successful completion Learners may be eligible to apply for the Railway Industry Workers Card through the Australian Railway Association.

    Learners should contact relevant Railway Industry operators in each State for specific requirements.
